OceansSaver in Front-runner Position

Investinor’s portfolio company OceanSaver is leading the race to offer ballast water treatment systems that are compliant with both IMO and US Coast Guard.

As the first ballast water treatment system supplier in the world to submit final type approval application to US Coast Guard based on the electrodialysis technology, OceanSaver has further strengthened its position as the front-runner in the ballast water treatment industry.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO)) is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ships.

The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM Convention) will enter into force on 8 September 2017.

The OceanSaver system can treat different water conditions such as fresh, brackish and marine water from clean to dirty. Lowest in class power consumption allows time efficient and flexible ballast operation. Being fully automatic with low consumption of deneutralization medium are also some of the the reasons why the OceanSaver system has a highly competitive operating expense profile for Operators.

«OceanSaver is now ramped up and fully prepared to support ship owners in planning and project execution with regards to installation of BWT system on their fleets. With extensive knowledge of rules and regulations, relevant retrofit project experience, presence in Asia and Europe, we are now ready to go”, says CEO at OceanSaver Helle Hundseid.
